AEG machines show codes like E10, E20, E30, E40, E50, E60, etc. Here's what these tell you—and simple solutions for most.

E10 / E11 / E12 – Water Fill Error

What it means: The machine isn't filling with water properly—either due to low water pressure, blocked inlet hose, faulty valve, or trapped air
Quick fix:

  • Check your tap is fully open, hoses aren't kinked, and inlet filters are clean.
  • If issues persist, test the inlet valve with a multimeter (~2–4 kΩ)

E20 / E21 – Drainage Error

What it means: Failure to drain water due to blockages in the filter, pump, or hose.
Fix:

  • Clean the drain pump filter and hose.
  • Make sure the hose isn't raised too high or kinked.

E30 / E31 / E32 / E35 / E38 – Pressure Sensor / Overfill

Meaning: The sensor that measures drum water level (pressostat) is faulty or clogged.
Fix:

  • Inspect and clean the sensor tubes or replace the pressostat if faulty.
  • When unsure, call a tech.

E40 / E41 / E42 / E43 / E44 / E45 – Door Issues

Meaning: Door didn't lock/unlock or latch correctly. Could be overload, worn latch, or faulty lock sensor.
Fix:

  • Check the door for obstructions and shut firmly.
  • Inspect the latch and wiring; they may require replacement.
E50 / E51 / E52 / E53 / E54 / E56 / E57 / E58 / E59 – Motor or Drive Faults

Meaning: Issues with motor performance—e.g., triac failure, tachometer faults, current imbalance.
Fix:

  • Remove and inspect motor brushes.
  • If suspect, call a trained engineer—fan belts, triacs, or motors may need replacing.

E60 / E61 / E62 / E66 / E68 / E69 / E5A – Heating / Temperature Errors

Meaning: Problems with heating elements, temperature sensors (NTC), wiring, relay, or leaks.
Fix:

  • Check the heating element and wiring continuity.
  • Replace the NTC sensor or element as needed—professional repair usually required.

E71 / E72 / E73 / E74 – Sensor / Pump Relay Faults

Meaning: Sensor circuit issues, especially turbidity, weight sensor, or pump triac faults.
Fix:

  • Inspect and test sensors for correct resistance.
  • Replace the faulty board or component if needed.
E80 – Cycle Selector Error

Meaning: Dial stopped between settings or incorrectly positioned.
Fix:

  • Turn the selector fully to a programming option.

E90 / E91 / E92 / E93 / E94 / E95 / E96 / E97 – Communication / Configuration Faults

Meaning: Errors in electronic boards, memory issues, or scrambled configuration.
Fix:

  • Power cycle the machine.
  • If persistent, boards may need a reflash/replacement by a technician.

EA0 / EA1 / EA2 / EA3 / EA4 / EA5 / EA6 – Drum Position Sensor (DPS) Errors

Meaning: The drum's self-positioning sensor (for inverter models) isn't working correctly.
Fix:

  • Sensor or wiring may need replacement; consult a technician.

EC1 / EC2 / EC3 – Solenoid / Turbidity / Weight Sensor Faults

Meaning: flow valve, turbidity sensor, or load sensor errors.
Fix:

  • Check relevant sensors/valves; clean or replace as needed.

EF0 / EF1 / EF2 / EF3 / EF4 / EF5 – Foam, Drain Clog, Imbalance

Meaning:

  • EF0, EF1: Drain system or filter blocked
  • EF2: Too much detergent foam
  • EF4: Low water pressure
  • EF5: Drum is unbalanced
    Fix:
  • Clean filters and run rinse cycle.
  • Use correct detergent quantity.
  • Redistribute laundry evenly.

EH1 / EH2 / EH3 / EB1 / EB2 / EB3 – Power Supply Issues

Meaning: Voltage or frequency is outside the acceptable range.
Fix:

  • Use stable power.
  • Surge protectors might help.
  • Persistent issues? Ask an electrician or technician.
